Richard E. White, M.D. received his medical degree from the
University of Missouri – Columbia School of Medicine.
Following an internship in internal medicine, Dr. White completed
specialty training in dermatology at Southern Illinois University
– School of Medicine where he served as chief resident.
He was board certified as a Diplomat of the American Board
of Dermatology in 2001. Dr. White pursued further specialized
training in Mohs micrographic surgery, laser surgery, and
dermatologic cosmetic surgery. He is a Fellow of the American
Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Academy
of Dermatology. Dr. White is a member of the American Society
for Mohs Surgery, American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology
and Aesthetic Surgery, and the National Psoriasis Foundation.
Dr. White is a magna cum laude graduate from the University of Missouri, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He achieved a degree from the Honors College as well as winning membership in Phi Beta Kappa.
Dr. White is recognized as an expert in medical and surgical dermatology. He has lectured and trained physicians nationally, and has conducted many clinical studies in areas such as acne, actinic keratosis, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, rosacea, and skin cancer. He has authored scientific articles, abstracts and numerous educational seminars for patients, physicians, and individuals working in the field of health care. Dr. White is dedicated to community health care. He is an active member of the North and South Carolina Medical Societies and Dermatology Asociations as well as the York County Medical Society. Dr. White serves on the teaching faculty of Carolinas Medical Center.
In addition to general dermatology, Dr. White provides a number of specialized services including vascular laser surgery for the treatment of rosacea, telangiectasia, leg veins, scars, hemangiomas and port-wine stains. He offers laser techniques to treat sun damage, brown spots, wrinkles and hair removal. Dr. White also performs the latest procedures including BOTOX®, Juvéderm™, chemical peels, fillers such as Restylane® and Juvéderm™, as well as sclerotherapy.
